Trending Now: Corduroy

*I found these images on Pinterest. I love the matching light pink jacket and pant set, but also the bold salmon pink is a fall must-have color for me.

You guessed it, CORDUROY IS BACK! Of all the fall/winter trends this year, this popular ’60s and ’70s staple definitely charts my top 10 list of styles to try this season. It’s a style that is fit for both the daring and conservative fashionista in all of us. Not sure how corduroy can fit into your wardrobe? Keep reading for my corduroy closet picks!

Corduroy Jacket – Instead of going for your classic denim jacket or  even your suede Sherpa lined jacket swap it out for a corduroy jacket instead. I like this Sherpa lined one from Francesca’s (Sara Sherpa Lined Corduroy Jacket, $54).

Corduroy Dress – In my opinion the corduroy dress is something that can transition with all the seasons. You can wear it on its own during spring and summer or you can wear it over a tee or long-sleeve for a cool fall/winter look. For those extra cold days I’d add on some fleece-lined tights and a coat. This dress from Urban Outfitters comes in 6 colors and has such a flattering shape to it (UO Corduroy Button-Down Mini Dress, on sale $49)

Corduroy Pant – This is challenging for 3 reasons: 1. there are so many pant styles to choose from 2. there are so many colors to choose from 3. you can’t buy them all….or can you? Here are a couple of my favorite ones from Urban Outfitters.

Corduroy Skirt – I think the corduroy skirt definitely gives a fun twist to an outfit. You can go with the popular mini button-up skirt or even play with the length a bit by going with a mid-length skirt like this belted one by Sandro (Belted Corduroy Skirt, $280 at Nordstrom).

For a subtle fun fall twist to your outfit definitely swap out your usual materials for corduroy and see how the texture and colorways elevate your everyday outfits!
